if we are being honest… we are over the new year, new me. just because we are walking into a new year, doesn’t mean that you need to change yourself entirely. 


instead, our 2022 mantra is “new year. same me. better habits.”


2022 is all about growing into becoming the best version of ourselves. 


we’re talking about new manifestations, new goals, & new affirmations.  


here are 3 habits to help you become the best version of yourself. 

 

 

 

#1 practice affirmations daily


practicing affirmations here or there is not enough. we’re telling you that daily affirmations hit differently. 


 

 


practicing affirmations can be done at any time of the day. when you wake up, during a lunch break, or before you go to bed. whenever you do it, make sure to look in the mirror and uplift yourself. 


don’t worry sis, we got you covered with some affirmations below:


  • I am powerful.
  • I am more than enough. I enjoy being in my own solitude. 
  • I embrace and love my kinks.
  • I will not criticize myself. I will love myself for who I am and for what I have become.
  • I will award and praise myself for my accomplishments. 

 

 

#2 revisit your goals

it’s so easy to write down goals, make vision boards, and write out a plan, but how often do you revisit those goals?


we are guilty too, but this we are going to do better. 


during the last week of every month, take out your goals and look at your vision board.





while you are looking at your goals and vision board ask yourself these questions:

  • did I complete any of my goals this month?
  • how did I work towards my goals?
  • what can I do next month to accomplish my goals?

the questions above will allow you to track your progress and also plan for the next month.


we believe in you accomplishing all you dream of, just don’t forget to actively work towards them!

 

#3 invest in yourself (and your hair!)

the new year starts and we immediately get so busy. bills, school, work, commitments, all start to take over. when life begins to happen, we can put ourselves on the back burner.  we put our dreams on the back burner. 


we are here to say, not this year. this year we are putting ourselves first. say it with us.

 

 

i am putting myself first. i am going to invest in myself. 


here are some ways to invest in yourself: 

  1. read a chapter daily
  2. exercise 
  3. listen to a podcast on a new topic
  4. journal before bed 
  5. create a regular hair care schedule

This article came right on time! Exactly what I needed to read to close out this month and game plan February. This year, I’m prioritizing building healthier habits into my daily routine! My focal areas are hair, eating & overall wellness — I’m determined to prove to that I can be disciplined in intentionality, especially when it comes to doing something good for MYself.
