optiphen plus is a paraben- and formaldehyde-free preservative system that is ideal for products with a lower pH system. optiphen plus is an isp patent-pending liquid preservative formulation featuring an innovative blend of phenoxyethanol, sorbic acid and an emollient base that is ideal for slightly acidic personal care products requiring broad-spectrum protection.

the combination of all three ingredients offers effective protection against bacteria, yeast and mold growth while imparting emolliency.

we recommend conducting an ""area/patch test"" as described below:

this test allows you to test a small area of your skin for 24 hours before applying the treatment to a larger area. we recommend rubbing the 4C ONLY mixture on the skin near your elbow, covering it with a bandage for 24 hours and if there is no allergic response (redness, itchiness, swelling), then apply the treatment as directed in the instructions. if you have an allergic reaction, we do not recommend the use of 4C ONLY and suggest that you seek a medical professional’s consultation.

nope. whether you're low or high porosity, these products are formulated to penetrate your hair and go to work. the only difference is in how you use the Too Soft Deep ConditionerTM. 

if you're low porosity, we strongly recommend you cover your hair with a plastic cap after applying the Too Soft Deep ConditionerTM. then use heat for at least 15 minutes, so your cuticles can open up and easily let the product in.

if you're high porosity, we recommend letting the Too Soft Deep ConditionerTM penetrate your strands for at least 15 minutes. you don't have to use heat or cover your hair with a plastic cap, but you may do so if you'd like.

while these products may work for other hair types, 4C ONLY is specially formulated for the needs of kinky, coily 4C hair. our natural and organic formulas won't upset other hair types, but they are designed to work best on 4C hair.

we recommend using 4C ONLY products as often as you do your wash day regimen. for some 4C kinks, this is once a week. for others, it may be bi-weekly. and for other 4C girls, it might even be every 3-4 days.

good question. because your length, density, and porosity may differ, we recommend experimenting with the amount of product you use.

start with a nickel-sized amount for short hair, or a quarter-sized amount for long hair. as you work product in, feel free to add more product if you find you need more to coat the length of your hair. 

pro-tip: the products should absorb into your hair. so if you find yourself with a visible 'cast' on your hair, do not add any more product. instead, lightly mist your hair with water and work the product in.

1. start with clean, soaking wet hair. section your hair, scoop out the conditioner, and work it in. this product is detangle-friendly, with tons of slip.

2. let the conditioner sit for 15 minutes, preferably with heat. then rinse it out. keep your hair in sections, and dripping wet.

3. on soaking wet hair, add the styling cream and braid/twist each section. re-hydrate some sections with water if they are too dry by the time you reach them. never apply products to dry hair.

4. once you're done, let your hair dry for a full 24 hours in that style. yup, a full 24 hours. it's important. after it's 100% dry, carefully unravel for minimal frizz.

we recommend lightly misting your hair with a spray bottle to control the amount of water. mist one section, apply a dime or nickel-sized amount of styling cream to the section if needed, and retwist or braid the section. continue this process for each section until you've touched all of your hair. allow your hair to dry for 24 hours.

nope. each of these products is formulated to work with your 4C hair, and not against it.

yeah, friend! we recommend detangling in the deep conditioner stage to minimize frizz when styling.

we suggest detangling before rinsing deep conditioner out of your hair, after the deep conditioner has had at least 15 minutes to penetrate your strands. 

you may finger detangle, or use your favorite detangling tool.

we do not recommend leaving the deep conditioner in overnight. you should rinse it out after 1 hour, max. you can leave the styling cream in until your next wash day.

nope. your curls will have hold, without feeling hard or crunchy.

nope. your curls will not loosen with these products. Instead, they'll have more bounce and elasticity.

if you find the product flaking, it may not mix well with another product in your regime. we recommend using water-based products with our 4C ONLY products.

we recommend using water-based products. the easy collection is also water-based, this will make sure all your wash day products work well together.

you can rock a high puff, full fro, or even a design if you'd like. however, keep in mind that 4C hair can tangle easier than other hair types. so we strongly recommend twist outs, flat twists, or braid outs to keep your 4C hair stretched and minimize fairy knots!

step #2: shipping time
after your order has been processed, please allow an additional 2-5 business days (not including weekends or holidays) for your 4C ONLY package to arrive! then you are all set to enjoy your 4C ONLY experience!

*possible carrier shipping delays: during the holiday season or COVID-19 things can get really busy for shipping carriers. therefore, you may experience delays that are not at the fault of 4C ONLY.*

incorrect shipping address policy:

1). the customer is responsible for providing the correct mailing address. before finalizing your order, be certain your shipping address is correct.

2). we are not responsible for goods delivered to the wrong address that was input at the time of ordering.

3). if you notice that you entered the wrong address, you can email us at info@4conly.com with the correct shipping address, before your shipping label is created.

returned to sender policy:

1). if a package is returned to 4C ONLY due to an incorrect or incomplete shipping address provided by a customer, or if the customer was not home for delivery, the customer will be responsible for the return shipping cost, as well as any additional delivery cost.

2). 4C ONLY is not responsible for packages delivered incorrectly or lost due to incorrect or incomplete shipping information provided by a customer.

3). no refunds will be provided if any part of the address is incorrect.

lost or stolen 4C ONLY package policy:

1). 4C ONLY is not responsible for lost or stolen packages that have a confirmed delivery to the address entered for an order.
